Alice in Wonderstuff

From 14th of May
to the 2nd of October the Laing Art Gallery hosts the Alice in Wonderland Exhibition where you are invited to tumble down the rabbit hole and “explore the different ways generations of illustrations, artists, musicians, filmmakers and designers have been inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classic tale”. Safe to say Wonderstuff could not resist a trip, and one grey Saturday afternoon ‘tumbled’ through the doors, looking for inspiration and possibly a white rabbit…

Alice in Wonderland sprang to life 150 years ago, and has become more relevant today than it was back then. Its themes and ideas have grown in interest and appeal, a dream come true for any piece of art, be it a story, musical score or artwork.

What makes Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland thrive 150 years pasts its intended era? What makes something so unique that it continuously surpasses newer trends? Alice evolves, to stay relevant.
