The winds of change are all-a-blowing here at The Hayloft.

Whilst we’re sad to see our long-term office-mates and collaborators Consult and Design move the majority of their team over to Sunderland Software City, it’s also great news for us as we’ve been able to spread out. Having the double the space couldn’t come at a more perfect time as at long last, after searching in every nook and cranny around, we’ll soon be welcoming a new senior creative to the team. For now their identity remains a closely guarded secret, but we’re very excited to be welcoming a creative of this caliber to the team; they’ll open up new avenues for us and hopefully fuel our future growth.

What’s more, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve recently become a member of the Design Business Association (DBA). As the trade association for design in the UK, the DBA works to strengthen the bridge between designers and businesses, championing effective design at every opportunity. The DBA’s countrywide network of 400 design agencies all share a common set of values and beliefs – that effective design is that which improves peoples business. We’re one of only seven member agencies in the North East, and we’re absolutely giddy to be joining the club.

What does that mean for you our clients? Well (save for a 2000% price increase for all of our services) not much really; we’ll continue producing creative, engaging and effective design work whilst experimenting with process and concept in our spare time. Behind the scenes however a whole lot will be shaken up. Being part of such an extensive, like-minded design community provides us with a stronger framework within which to work, a better support network to look to and a badge of guaranteed effectiveness.
